About Us
Mental Health Support Rooted in Respect and Real Connection
Mahoe Mental Health Services Ltd. is a dynamic, Ontario-based mental health organization committed to providing accessible, high-quality culturally responsive mental health and addiction support that reflects the traditions, beliefs, and social realities of each individual
Founded in 2021 by mental health innovator and youth advocate Lyn Williams, Mahoe was created in response to the growing need for inclusive, community-based mental health support—particularly for children, youth, and families.

Our work is grounded in three key pillars
Equity & Acces
Integrated Care
Youth Mental Health
Dedicated to serving underserved populations, with a strong emphasis on Youth. This commitment is grounded in providing culturally appropriate mental health and addiction support, ensuring services are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs and experiences of these communities.
Strengthening cross-sector collaboration with hospitals, police, social services, and a multidisciplinary network of mental health professionals to provide coordinated, comprehensive support.
Expanding early intervention, school-based supports, and substance use prevention and intervention programs to address the complex mental health needs of young people.
"Every person carries a story that deserves to be heard—especially the ones they've never felt safe enough to tell. At Mahoe, we hold space for those stories with compassion, respect, and care."
We use secure telehealth platforms and flexible service models to ensure that our care is accessible and responsive to the needs of diverse communities.
"Our approach is grounded in empathy, innovation, and a deep awareness of the social and cultural influences that shape mental health experiences. We recognize how these factors impact not only how individuals understand their mental well-being, but also how they seek help, engage with care, and navigate their healing journey

Cultural Diversity, Responsibility & Inclusion
At Mahoe Mental Health Services, we recognize that meaningful mental health care must reflect the diverse identities and lived experiences of the communities we serve. One of the greatest strengths of our network is the diversity of our mental health professionals, who bring a wide range of cultural backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences to their work— enriching the care we provide. We understand that social and cultural factors deeply influence how individuals perceive mental health, seek support, and navigate their healing journey. That’s why we offer a multi-level approach to care, combining self-guided online tools, oneon-one counselling, and community-integrated mentorship with group healing circles— ensuring that every individual can access support in a way that feels safe, relevant, and empowering.
Our team is deeply committed to principles of anti-oppression, anti-racism, and anti-stigma, and we approach every client relationship with mutual respect and cultural sensitivity. These values are embedded in every aspect of our practice—from assessments and issue identification to the development of interventions and strategies that are culturally relevant and responsive.
We are especially attuned to the unique needs of racialized individuals and communities, and we strive to create safe, affirming spaces where all clients feel seen, heard, and supported.

Our Vision and Values
Our Values
Our Vision
At Mahoe, we are guided by the values of collaboration, communication, and compassion. These principles inform every aspect of our work—from how we support our clients to how we build partnerships and innovate in care delivery.
Empowering every individual to thrive through personalized, collaborative, and accessible mental health care—your mind, your voice, your journey, our support.
Our vision is to create a world where mental health care is a shared, empowering journey— personalized, collaborative, and accessible for all—so every individual can thrive with resilience. We believe that mental wellness is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and we are committed to walking alongside our clients with empathy, respect, and culturally responsive care.
Our Strength Is Our Team
At Mahoe, we’re proud of our multidisciplinary team—a group of passionate professionals who each bring their own area of expertise to the table. We know that no one person can do it all, which is why we work together to offer well-rounded, personalized care.
Our integrated approach means that when needed, our team collaborates across disciplines to ensure you receive the most comprehensive, coordinated, and effective support possible. Whether it’s complex trauma, family dynamics, youth mental health, or culturally specific concerns, we work together to deliver care that’s both personalized and holistic.
It’s this shared commitment to care, community, and collaboration that makes our work so meaningful.
Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge with humility and respect that Mahoe Mental Health Services Ltd. operates on the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. This land is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. We also recognize that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.
We honour the enduring presence and deep traditional knowledge of Indigenous peoples and acknowledge the spirit of peace, friendship, and respect that this treaty represents. We are grateful every day to live and work on this land and are committed to ongoing learning, reconciliation, and relationship-building with Indigenous communities.
African Canadian History of Enslavement Acknowledgement
We also recognize the painful and often overlooked history of enslavement, racial segregation, and systemic marginalization of people of African descent in Canada. The legacy of slavery continues to shape the lived experiences of Black Canadians today, contributing to persistent inequalities in child welfare, education, housing, employment, health care, criminal justice, and beyond.
Canada has yet to fully acknowledge or educate the public about this history and its ongoing impact. Despite these challenges, Black Canadians have made extraordinary contributions to every facet of Canadian society. Recognizing this history is essential to building a more just, equitable, and inclusive future—one free from discrimination and systemic racism.
